Alabama ranked No. 2; six SEC teams land in AP Top 25

Alabama came in as the highest ranked SEC team in the AP Top 25 at No. 2 behind Clemson. Alabama received 10 first place votes, while the defending national champions received 52.

Alabama will open its season against unranked Duke in the 2019 Chick Fil-A Kickoff Game at 2:30 p.m. CT on August 31. The game will be televised on ABC.

Five other SEC teams join the Crimson Tide in the poll. Georgia fell behind Alabama at No. 3, and LSU barely missed the top five at No. 6. Florida is ranked No. 8, playing their season opener against unranked Miami on Saturday in Orlando.

Texas A&M lands inside the top 15 at No. 12, and Auburn is the last SEC team to be ranked, coming in at No. 16. The Tigers’ season opener is in Dallas against No. 11 Oregon in the 2019 AdvoCare Classic. This is the second meeting all-time between the two schools.
