Alabama Earns Multiple SEC Postseason Baseball Awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama had four players earn a combined six spots on the Southeastern Conference’s postseason awards list, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

Sam Praytor earned First Team All-SEC recognition at catcher, the first for UA since 2009 when Taylor Dugas (OF) was selected as a first-teamer on the league’s postseason team. In addition to Praytor, Peyton Wilson was tabbed to the All-SEC Second Team for his efforts at second base.

Wilson is joined by Zane Denton on the league’s Newcomer All-SEC Team, which recognizes the conference sophomores who saw their freshman season shortened due to the pandemic. Denton was also selected to the SEC All-Defensive Team for his play at third base. He was joined by pitcher Tyler Ras on the defensive squad.
