Sylacauga (5-1, 2-1) at St. Clair County (0-5, 0-3)

Hot off a 45-8 victory over Childersburg, Sylacauga resumes region play with a game against 0-5 St. Clair County. The Aggies’ duo of running backs, Maleek Pope and Jordan Ridgeway, lead the Sylacauga offense against a Fighting Saints defense that is allowing 40.2 points per game. Sylacauga’s offense is averaging 38.4 points per game over the last five weeks. The Aggies are 2-1 on the road with the lone loss coming in overtime to Mortimer Jordan two weeks ago. In what is a loaded region featuring Central Clay County and Center Point, the Aggies sit in fourth place. This is the second meeting between the two schools. Sylacauga won last year’s contest 44-13.
Childersburg (2-4, 0-3) is on a bye week.
B.B. Comer (2-3, 1-2) vs. Walter Wellborn (6-0, 3-0)
B.B. Comer is in for a test as they play one of the two undefeated teams in its region, Walter Wellborn. The Walter Wellborn offense has scored more than 60 points in three of its games, averaging 51.2 points per game. B.B. Comer’s offense has shown the ability to score points with the season average at 29.6 points per game. The Tigers have scored 40 points in two of the last three weeks in wins over Glencoe and Talladega County Central. Nonetheless, against teams with a current winning record, B.B. Comer averages 22.7 points per game. Walter Wellborn is a contender for the state championship, so things don’t get any easier for the Tigers.
Fayetteville (4-1, 1-1) vs. LaFayette (2-3, 2-1)
It’s been over two weeks since Fayetteville has played a region opponent, but the Wolves are carrying a two-game winning streak with them back into region play. LaFayette, on the other hand, is on a two-game losing streak with losses to Reeltown and Notasulga. This game begins a four-game road stretch for LaFayette to end the season. Fayetteville’s offense will be faced with the difficult task of scoring points on the LaFayette defense, which is only allowing 17.6 points per game. On the opposite end, LaFayette has struggled to score points, only scoring 20 points over the past two weeks. This game could come down to which offense finds the points in a low-scoring affair.
Lincoln (3-2, 2-0) at Holtville (4-1, 2-1)
Lincoln is looking to bounce back from a loss to Munford with a game against Holtville this week. The Golden Bears haven’t beaten Holtville since 2011, but this is only the second time the two teams have met since that game. Lincoln lost 23-21 to Holtville in last year’s meeting. Holtville is on a three-game winning streak, featuring wins over Childersburg, Elmore County, and Dallas County. The combined record of those teams is 5-11. Holtville’s only game against a team with a winning record was against Handley, a 34-10 loss. Lincoln’s offense will be looking for consistency as the Golden Bears are only averaging 25.8 points per game, and the test doesn’t get easier as Holtville is allowing 16.4 points per game.
